Why you can trust Creative Bloq
The Gigabyte M27UA is a monitor that combines high resolution and a rapid refresh rate, catering to a wide range of users beyond the gaming market.
The 27-inch IPS display offers a 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, delivering stunning visuals with exceptional detail and clarity that will impress creative professionals and casual users alike who appreciate the sharpness of a premium monitor.
With plenty of 4K monitors flooding the market, this one isn’t the cheapest — you won’t get much change from £500. But is it worth the premium price tag? I certainly think so. The vivid colours and crystal-clear display make it one of the best monitors for working from home as well as a good choice for choice for video editors and graphic designers.

Gigabyte M27UA monitor: Design & build
The Gigabyte M27UA monitor may seem a little plain, but its sleek and simple design is ideal for most work environments. The thin bezels make this monitor look a lot smaller than it is but when it's turned on you get a full screen experience. The only branding to the logo sits at the front where there's the GIGABYTE logo at the base.
It’s easy to assemble; just attach the screen to the stand, and you’re ready to go. At 5.87 kg, it’s not a heavy monitor, yet it feels sturdy and stable once mounted. The stand offers a range of height and tilt adjustments, allowing you to find the perfect viewing angle. The stand is also super compact, unlike the AOC 27G2ZN3 I reviewed recently which felt like the stand took over half of my desk.
In terms of connectivity, it’s well-equipped with two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a USB 3.2 hub, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode, a headphone output, and a power delivery port. At the back, there’s also a KVM switch, enabling you to switch between two connected devices without needing to unplug anything, which is especially handy if you're using the same monitor for multiple devices.
Gigabyte M27UA monitor: Features & Performance
The Gigabyte M27UA monitor features a vibrant ultra-high-definition screen, allowing you to experience sharp images and enhanced clarity. With a maximum brightness of 400 nits, the IPS panel also delivers exceptional colour accuracy, and its wide viewing angles ensure that whether you’re using it for gaming or content creation, you’ll have an optimal visual experience.
As a gaming monitor, it’s packed with features to satisfy even the most avid gamer. The 160Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time ensure smooth, responsive gameplay. It also comes with AMD FreeSync Premium technology to eliminate lag and stuttering. For better visibility in dark areas, the Black Equaliser function lets you adjust the gamma, and if that’s not enough for a competitive edge, you can even add digital crosshairs.
For those who love stats, there’s a dashboard that displays information from your PC, including CPU and GPU temperatures, along with other metrics.
The only downside of this monitor is the two 3W speakers, which fall short of expectations. Even at just 50% volume, they produce a tinny, distorted sound that’s barely audible. If you rely on sound while working or gaming, investing in a good pair of headphones is essential—you won’t want to use the built-in speakers for even a moment.
Gigabyte M27UA monitor: Price
The Gigabyte M27UA retails at $449/£429 which for a 4K monitor is great value. This monitor is pretty new to the market so you’re unlikely to find it for much less even if you shop around. But when you consider similar spec gaming monitors from Alienware, you’re saving a fair bit of money so it’s exceptional value.
Gigabyte M27UA monitor: Who’s it for?
Don’t let the term "gaming monitor" fool you— the Gigabyte M27UA isn’t just for gamers; it’s for anyone who wants a high-quality monitor. We all spend far too much time at our desks, so why settle for a low-grade screen? Whether you’re playing the latest AAA games, creating content, or simply working on productivity tasks and browsing the web, this monitor will elevate your experience. It’s definitely a monitor that can make your workday a little more enjoyable.
