Flexispot BS5 office chair: It looks nice and is affordable, but there are unforgivable flaws

Flexispot produces a number of value chairs with a variety of designs, and the BS5 is one of their better looking options.

Our Verdict

As a creative website, you'd imagine that we're only interested in what looks good. If that were the case, I'd recommend the Flexispot BS5 to all readers. But it's not – the product needs to look great and function near to perfect for us to get excited. Unfortunately, the BS5 only does part of all that, and wide-set arm rests really let down what is otherwise a great value, very pretty-looking office chair.

For

  • Looks airy, nice colour options
  • Soft, cushioned seat
  • Good lumbar support
  • Under $200

Against

  • Arm rests set too far apart
  • Upright, the chair leans too far back

Not all ergonomic chairs are pretty, and even fewer pretty chairs are really ergonomic. But the Flexispot BS5 chair is a good looking chair that definitely gives ergonomics a good bash. There are many reasons to consider it if you're looking for a new chair, but its main flaw may just be a deal-breaker for you (it is for me).

Below I'm going to go through the chair, from assembly to ergonomics and aesthetics, as it definitely has a lot going for it, and as with so many chairs, it's not as easy as saying: this is good, or this is not good. It's complex, especially when you consider a buyer's specific needs.
