Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review: powerful camera phone is still so hot right now

But why does it feel slightly less thrilling than it could?

Our Verdict

The current top of the heap as far as Android smartphones are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra boasts some of the most powerful, well-made portable hardware you could ask for, with the ability to do almost anything you could ask of it. However, we are hoping there will be updates on the software side soon, lest it start to feel left behind.

There are ultra phones and then there are Ultra phones, and Samsung’s Galaxy Ultra series has always been at the top of the heap. Each annual release comes with top specs, a stylus that hides away inside its body, an awesome camera array and the ability to use it as a desktop PC if you really need to, yet isn’t any bigger than many other camera phone. It’s an expensive gadget, but one with so many uses you’ll wonder how you lived without it, until the next one comes along.
