Our Verdict

The NYXI Hyperion Pro joy-pad is a top-class controller perfect for Switch gamers looking to ditch their drifty Joy-Cons. It can function as both a pro controller, and as two separate pads, just like official Nintendo Joy-Con’s – and for a fraction of the cost. The Hyperion Pro has been designed with Hall effect joysticks, which essentially means that this pad will never develop stick drift in its lifetime, and can last much longer than controllers with regular analogue sticks. Other features that make this joypad a standout include the breathing RGB lights, motion sensors and a 6-axis gyroscope, turbo buttons on either side, programmable back buttons, and replaceable metal ring thumbsticks.

For

  • Gorgeous ergonomic retro design
  • Breathable LED lights
  • Hall effect joysticks
  • Programmable back buttons

Against

  • Plastic-y feel
  • Almost too lightweight
  • No HD rumble

If you’re looking for a wireless Nintendo Switch controller to replace your drifty Joy-Cons then you’ve come to the right place. I’ve found possibly the best solution to this common and annoying problem in the form of the NYXI Hyperion Pro controller, one of the best Nintendo Switch Joy-Con alternatives on the market right now.

Designed for Nintendo Switch and OLED consoles, this joy-pad can do everything that official Nintendo Joy-Cons can, functioning either as two separate controllers or combined into one for a pro controller experience. But it doesn’t stop there.
