Mobile Pixels Geminos review: double the screen, double the productivity?

This pair of stacked 24 screens is cleverly designed to fold down into a more subtle configuration - but how useful is this pricey feature?

Our Verdict

The Mobile Pixel Geminos monitor is a neat idea, stacking two 24-inch screens in one comprehensive package. What it lacks in resolution it makes up for in ingenuity, allowing you to swiftly and intuitively adjust the screen height and orientation - and even have the two screens at a 90-degree angle. The screens relatively easily and neatly fold down - but considering its hefty weight and nonuniform shape, it’s not exactly portable, and it’s challenging to figure out who exactly this monitor is for.

For

  • Easily adjustable, highly configurable
  • Excellent for productivity
  • In-built webcam and 10-port hub

Against

  • Too heavy to be portable
  • Let down by specs and drivers
  • Expensive
  • No KVM switch

Having a dual monitor set up can be a real boon, granting more real estate that can massively boost productivity - provided, that is, you have ample space on your workspace for two screens. Alternatively, you can wall-mount monitors atop one another; or, just opt for Mobile Pixel’s Geminos monitor, which comes with two vertically stacked 24-inch screens in one easily adjustable and configurable package.

I’ve been using Geminos for several weeks for everything from working to drawing and casual web surfing, and it’s definitely had a positive impact on my workflow, making it undoubtedly one of the best monitors for working from home. The question is, who needs this, given it’s lack of portability and limiting specs?
