Amazon's October Prime Day 2, or Prime Big Deal Days, is here, and there are deals on a range of Apple products. But one of the best buys isn't a new product but Apple's already great value 9th gen iPad from 2021.  The classic tablet is back at its record low price of $329 $249 - a saving of $80.

Let us clarify that this is not a tablet for heavy-duty graphics work. It's not the best iPad for drawing either since it supports Apple Pencil 1 rather than the improved 2nd-gen stylus. But it is a fantastic general use tablet for browsing, streaming and light work on the go. We gave it four stars in our iPad 9th gen review.

Overview: The Apple iPad 9th gen was released in late 2021 and is a perfect companion for media enthusiasts. The display is a good size for browsing and watching movies, and the front and rear dual camera setup is decent for video chats.

Key features: This iPad is equipped with an A13 Bionic chip which offers enough power to run multiple apps and stream movies with ease. There's an Ultra Wide front camera, impressive battery life, Apple Pencil 1 support, and you can set up a fingerprint scanner and make Apple Pay purchases.

Price history: The 9th Gen iPad retails at $329 at full price. In the last six months, Amazon has regularly had it on offer at between $269 and $299, but we've only seen the price fall as low as the current $249 on two occasions so far: in late March and then during Prime Day 1 in July.

Price comparison: Apple: $329 | Best Buy: $269.99

Reviews: We gave the Apple iPad 10.2-inch (9th Gen) a 4-star review when we tested it, making only minor complaints about the continued lack of USB-type-C support and no Apple Pencil 2 support. Just keep that in mind for accessories.
