MSI delivers the perfect business laptop with the Summit E14 Evo
Need a business laptop but don't want to compromise? The MSI Summit E14 Evo has everything you need, and more besides.
What do you look for when you're shopping for the best business laptop? For many, performance is key; you want something that can cope with any tasks you throw at it, from everyday admin through to comfortably running design apps whenever you want to get hands-on. For others it's all about the design; the need for a good-looking, slimline and lightweight machine that's comfortable to use and easy to take everywhere.
Some users prioritise security features, while others look for all those extra features that make a laptop more pleasant and reliable to use day on day. And while you might expect to have to shop around to find a business laptop that meets most of your particular needs, the latest laptop from MSI ticks all these boxes and more besides.
The MSI Summit E14 Evo is built with the business elite and boasts high performance combined with reliable design, as well as smart features that ramp up its security and make it a delight to use, wherever you are. Here's what you need to know.
Great looks and performance
One look at the Summit E14 Evo should be enough to tell you that it's a cut above the rest. Designed with the Golden Ratio in mind, it's a 14-inch laptop with sleek looks and a spacious 16:10 FHD+ display, which gives you that extra bit of room over the usual 16:9 screen and is comfortable to use for hours on end, and with its backlit keyboard you'll be able to keep on going long after dark.
Weighing in at just 1.6 kg, the Summit E14 Evo is light enough to take with you anywhere, but just because it's slim and light, that doesn't mean you have to compromise on power or connectivity. Under the hood there's the latest 12th generation Intel Core i7 processor with up to 14 cores and up to twice the performance of previous generation processors, with up to 32GB memory available and plenty of SSD storage options.
In terms of connectivity, with the Summit E14 Evo you're particularly well served. As well as a standard USB-A port you'll find a pair of USB-C ports with PD charging, and there's also a Micro SD card reader plus an HDMI output for when you need to share your work on a bigger screen. And with Wi-Fi 6E you're guaranteed a rock-solid network connection, even if you have to share with multiple devices.
A laptop that's a pleasure to use
There's more to the Summit E14 Evo than fantastic specifications; it's also packed with features that make it a lot more pleasant to use than the average business laptop. If you've ever had to contend with noisy fans spinning up when you're really putting a laptop through its paces, the Summit E14 Evo's Ambient Silent AI feature can bring you some much-needed peace and quiet when you need it.
It automatically detects the ambient noise levels around you, and adjusts performance levels and fan speed noise to match, so if you're working in a quiet airport business lounge it'll be whisper-quiet, but if you're on the train or in a noisy coffee shop it'll turn up the power a bit more. And if you often find yourself trying to make yourself heard on video calls when background noise is a bit much, the Summit E14 Evo has built-in noise cancellation that'll effectively cancel out external noises and suppress ambient background noise when you're on a video conference.
Working on the move and don't have easy access to an electrical socket? The Summit E14 Evo has an incredibly useful AI Smart Auto feature that detects your usage scenario and manages performance so that it can keep on going when you need it; for example, if you start getting low on battery power it'll automatically switch to Super Battery mode to provide less of a power drain until you can get to a socket. You'll get up to 10 hours use from a single battery charge, and with the Summit E14 EVO's fast charging technology you can get 1.5 hours' battery extension from just 15 minutes of charging.
All the security you need
If security matters to you, the MSI Summit E14 Evo has all the features you want, as well as some that you might not have realised were available. There's a built-in fingerprint sensor for secure logins, but the Summit E14 Evo goes much further than that in terms of security. There's a Find Your MSI Laptop feature that uses the Tile app to help you locate it via Bluetooth, even if it's shut down, and you can use Tile on your laptop to find your phone, too.
Need more security? If you don't want people sneaking a look at your screen if you're not around, the Summit E14 Evo comes with Tobii Aware, which automatically blurs the screen and locks your device if you step away, and will even notify you if someone tries to take a look at your screen. It's ideal if you're working with confidential information and want an easy way to ensure that nobody but you gets to look at it.
