12 creative resources to bookmark now
Avril Delaney reveals a mix of websites to get inspiration or ideas, and tools that will just straight-up make your life that little bit easier.
07. Friends of Type
See what trends are emerging in type, or get inspiration for your next project. Whether you’re on the hunt for ideas or references, Friends of Type’s got it.
08. Rob Draper's Instagram
Rob Draper's undertaken a fascinating project — to impose his lettering onto food and everyday objects, from burger buns to bread rolls and coffee cups. Never has there been more of a creative Draper since Don. Follow for typographic inspiration and, of course, the unorthodox canvasses.
09. Indigo & Cloth Tumblr
The beautifully curated tumblr of this creative design agency, based in Dublin, houses reams and reams of amazing imagery. Great inspiration for composition and design.
10. Typetoken
The sites I love to scroll through are the ones that are laid out like a sprawling visual catalogue – and TypeToken is one of these sites. Particularly good for typography, this online magazine is also a treasure of trove of theoretical information and articles, so is an incredibly valuable source of information in addition to being a brilliant source of inspiration.
11. We and the Color
We and the Color is a site jam-packed full of useful creative resources — from Adobe cloud tip packages, to free presentation templates, fonts, great resource, adobe cloud tip packages presentation templates, text effects and fonts.
12. ColorPod
Need some colour palette inspo? Check out ColorPod. Choose from monochromatic, complementary, analogous, neutral or warm and cool and ColorPod will automatically generate a color palette tailored to your request. Pretty sweet.
If you could choose number 13 what would it be? Tell us your go-to, can’t live without creative resource in the comments below.
