Stylised graphic backdrops
Computer Arts' Luke O'Neill takes the legwork out of illustrating around your model.
Computer Arts 158's bold and beautiful cover, created by the highly talented and prolific Kate Moross, was a long time in the making.
From initial concept to commissioning the photographer, model and stylist, right through to post production, it was a lengthy and expensive process that would be out of the question for those with a limited budget and timescale.
That said, it is possible to achieve something similar with the selective use of stock photography and a little imagination. Through this tutorial I will show you how I went about creating this striking piece of artwork, from initial concept through to image selection and final realisation. The key aspects to focus on when completing this tutorial are the process and technique that went into its creation. The look and feel of the final artwork is entirely up to you, and I would encourage you to instil the piece with your own particular graphic language and taste.
