Producing digital art prints
Ben and Fi O'Brien show you how to take your artwork from and into people's homes.
Since investing in an Epson R2400 Stylus Photo Printer two years ago, we have been able to broaden our scope from working solely on commissioned illustration projects to also producing art prints for the interior design-conscious public.
This tutorial will help you with the technical and creative process of taking your artwork from Adobe Illustrator to a fresh sheet of fine art paper via Gicle printing.
With this process learnt, it is not only invaluable but also enjoyable to get a good understanding of your customers, their homes, lifestyles and design tastes. Your branding can be key to promoting your prints, creating a recognisable identity that your market will be attracted to and creating a lifestyle and interior design approach that people will want to buy into and bring to their homes. Plus, adding an art print line to your commercial portfolio not only expands your knowledge base but also your business opportunities.
