Animate your portfolio
Paul Wyatt shows you how to combine filters, keyframing and a little code to make a fun interactive portfolio.
When it comes to putting an online portfolio together, it's important to stand out from the crowd. Flash certainly offers many opportunities for innovation and adding that all-important 'wow' factor to your online presence.
However, don't panic if your Flash skills are limited - you don't need to be a Flash pro to produce visually interesting transitions and environments for your folio work.
In this project we look at how to create a Flash interface that has four rooms; we begin by creating a nifty navigation device so you can move around from rooms one to four. On arrival in rooms two to four, your much-prized work will be presented on screen using one of the default Flash filter effects: Gradient Bevel, Blur, Glow and Drop Shadow. Once mastered, you can adapt and combine these techniques and use them to add real pizzazz to your own work.
