Huion Kamvas Slate 10 review: a budget mobile drawing display that fails to impress

Too basic for pros and hobbyists, this is a solid kid-friendly tablet.

The Huion Kamvas Slate 10 is the latest mobile drawing display to pop up that challenges the dominance of Apple's iPad for digital artists who want to get out and paint on the go. For anyone who loves digital plein air, these new Android tablets are eye-catching entries, and are priced below an equivalent iPad.

XPPen set the benchmark with the excellent Magic Drawing Pad, which feels like a real drawing tablet with the bonus of a CPU, and the other brands have been playing catch up, with Huion releasing the Kamvas Slate 10 to rub alongside rival Ugee's 10-inch and 14-inch UT series. This also comes on the back of Huion's impressive Kamvas Pro 19, proving the brand can deliver for desktop displays.

An artist-first Android tablet that features a better display and stylus over the Slate 10, and it comes with more free art apps. It's slimmer and lighter in design, and features a larger 12.2-inch display.

Smaller than the Magic Drawing Pad but larger than Slate 10, Apple's iPad remains a quality product. It has the best display, Apple Pencil is excellent, and more RAM and can run Procreate.

A curve-ball alt, the Movink isn't a computer tablet so you'll need to connect this to a smartphone to use, but this has the best drawing experience here; it's stupidly thin too.
