Character animation
This tutorial will teach you how to use to create and animate your own animatics and 2D characters. You can bring your sketches to life and add them to your website or short film.
Have you ever marvelled at the skills professional animators have? Perhaps you've found yourself thinking that you could surely create your own animated characters if you only had the right equipment.
If you've ever tried to create an animation with Flash you know that the features can be lacking. Flash is a great application but was just not designed for animators. Simple tools like basic parent/child manipulation are missing, even though animators have been begging for them for years.
That's where Toon Boom steps in with the recently released Toon Boom Studio 4, the newest version of its primary animation program. While it does not offer advanced scripting capabilities, Toon Boom Studio is an ideal application for 2D character animation that plays well with Flash and QuickTime.
This tutorial will show you how to create an animatic, then build a convincing and entertaining walk-cycle animation using the animatic as a guide.
You can find a trial version of Toon Boom Studio 4 here.
